Betsey is one of the biggest risers in the country and is being heavily pursued as one of the top prospects in the class of 2024.

The guard-forward from St. Thomas More (CT) is a fantastic 3-point shooter and has shot up recruiting boards fast when he made a name for himself on the AAU circuit last year helping lead his New York Rens squad.

He was named the 2023 Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year and averaged 21 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists this past high school season, leading his team to the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council Class AAA quarterfinals.

UConn, along with other top programs such as Alabama, Rutgers, Indiana, Duke, and Michigan State will all be interested in his services. He is a local kid from Windsor, Connecticut, and coach Dan Hurley will be looking to keep Betsey at home. He's been consistently recruited by Hurley and top assistants, Tom Moore and Kimani Young.

So far, Betsey has remained steady in the first EYBL showcase, with his best game coming against City Rocks where he had 17 points to lead New York Rens to a 6-point win. He scored 17 again, helping his team to a win over the Rotary Rebels

In addition to being a lights-out shooter, Betsey is rapidly improving at getting to the basket through contact and can space the floor. He also is a solid defender and has been a greater presence on the defensive side of the game for the Rens.

Expect Betsey to keep rising the recruiting ranks all summer.

Boogie Fland is one of the most highly coveted guards in the country for the class of 2024.

The 6-foot-3 guard from White Plains, New York plays with the typical New York toughness and flare. He is great with the ball in hand and is a prominent shooter from all levels of the floor. Fland also is a great passer and is very good about getting his teammates involved.

He comes from a high school that has recently produced talented players such as RJ Davis (North Carolina) and AJ Griffin (Atlanta Hawks, formerly of Duke). You can't help but think of the Huskies' history with guards from New York City when you watch Fland and think of how special he could be when wearing the UConn navy.

Fland has averaged 12.8 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.8 rebounds on the EYBL circuit for the PSA Cardinals so far. He was great for his high school this year, putting up 18.1, 3.7, and 4.2 a game for Archbishop Stepinac. He showed flashes as a defender as well, as he averaged a healthy 2 steals per game.

With Rick Pitino stepping in as the new coach for St. John's, the Red Storm among others will be in hot pursuit of Fland. However, expect UConn to continue to heavily recruit the New York guard as well.

Abraham is another player who has been linked to the Huskies recently. Hailing from Fairfax, Virginia, he is the number 67 player in the nation per Rivals and could be a great addition to UConn's 2024 class.

The 6-foot-7 forward is a wing with great size. He is a strong shooter with a great range from anywhere on the floor. He is a great athlete as well and can make explosive plays above the rim. With lots of physical upsides, he looks to be an interesting prospect for the Huskies.

He's averaged just under 7 points a game for Team Takeover during the first EYBL showcase but has steadily improved. His most recent game against Team Beal was his best, scoring 11 points in a blowout win against Brad Beal Elite.

The 2024 forward has offers from Georgetown, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Marquette, and Tennessee among others but has interest from UConn.

Abraham is going to be a name to keep an eye on during the AAU circuit.

Thomas became the first 2025 to receive an offer from UConn over the weekend.

The 6-4 guard from Pennsylvania has been electric in Atlanta so far, averaging 14.5 points a game while only playing an average of 20 minutes per game. His NH Lighting squad is also undefeated so far.

He is an explosive guard who can score at all levels while being active on defense. Thomas is shifty and has a great mid-range pull-up game.

Thomas has offers from high-profile programs such as Duke, Michigan, and Indiana and certainly will have many more coming his way.

Expect UConn to remain in hot pursuit of the sophomore guard.
