UConn offers NC RB

With the Spring Evaluation Period closing and summer camps around the corner, the UConn coaching staff has been busy passing out a few additional offers. One of these went out last Friday to three-star running back Marcus Marshall of Raleigh (N.C.) Millbrook.
"UConn has been recruiting me since about two or three weeks ago," said Marshall, who is 5-foot-9 and 205 pounds. "Coach Brown has been recruiting me. He was also at my school a couple of weeks ago."

Now with eight offers, Marshall shared his thoughts about his newest addition.
"I am very interested," he said. "UConn is a great school and I'm just looking forward to learning more. I'm just interested in the opportunity itself."
While he has not talked to the UConn coaching about setting up a visit to this point, Marshall does have a few upcoming plans.
"I'm going to two camps at Wake Forest and N.C. State and I'm scheduled to visit Boston later this month," said Marshall, who currently also has offers from Boston College, Army, James Madison, Furman, Elon, Holy Cross and Mercer.
At every camp Marshall attends, he has one firm goal in mind.
"Well right now I have the same goal in everything I do, which is to prove that I'm the best," he said.
With eight options now, has Marshall thought about a timeframe for a final decision?
"No not yet," he said. "I should probably narrow things down near September though."
When it comes to his on-field performance, Marshall finished off his junior season with approximately 1,000 yards rushing, 200 yards receiving and 300 yards in returns. His rushing total actually was accrued in the final eight games of the season, which is when he was moved over from the slot to running back.
Being relatively new to the running back position, Marshall knows that parts of his game need improvement.
"I'm trying to improve anything and everything," he said. "I've really been focusing on explosiveness, which will improve my overall game."
UConnReport.com will continue to check in with Marshall to see if he makes his way to Storrs for a visit during the summer.
