PUTNAM, Conn. - Josh Gray is not one to run from competition.

The 7-footer has yet to make a college choice, but every day he knows he better bring his all in practice at Putnam Science Academy. One of the premier New England prep schools has a loaded squad this season - including three 7-footers and a 6-11 center on a roster that could include up to 13 Division I players.

“It forces me to work every day and get better every day - no days off,” Gray said.

The three-star recruit already has a host of offers from top D-I schools - including UConn, Providence, LSU, Florida State, West Virginia and Rutgers. However, the first-year PSA center is in no rush to commit to a college for next season.

“I’ll decide whenever it feels right but I’m going to do most of my official visits in the spring,” Gray said. “So (I’ll decide) probably around that time.”

Gray was in attendance for UConn's 64-40 win over Maine at the XL Center Sunday.
