With nine days before the season opener at Utah State, UConn announced DC Lou Spanos will be taking a leave of absence for “personal reasons.” Spanos, who was hired in 2019 and was interim HC in 2021 for ten games, was initially let go after the 2021 season and re-hired a month later.

It has yet to be announced who will be taking over the DC role.
