Out of high school, Sears wasn't highly recruited as he ended up going to Rhode Island for two years before making the move to UConn this past offseason just before the 2023 season.
Almost immediately after joining the team, Sears found himself in the starting rotation where he made 14 appearances all of which were starts. He also posted a 3-1 record with a 6.24 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and struck out 74 batters in 62.0 innings pitched.
The slot value for the 290th pick is $170,030.
