Phillips Leaves Team

The Huskies are down a weapon next year, as UConn coach Bob Diaco confirmed that wide receiver Shakim Phillips is no longer with the team. A source close to Phillips confirmed that he is still enrolled at UConn and taking classes to try and earn his degree in the summer semester. Could Phillips be headed to BC?
Adam Kurkjian of the Boston Herald reported this week that the wide receiver was back on the BC campus. . If Phillips can do earn his degree, he would be able to transfer to BC and be eligible for the 2014 season.

Phillips looked to be headed towards an All-Conference type of season last year after grabbing 5 receptions for 77 yards and 2 touchdowns against Towson in game one, and then 10 receptions for 178 yards and a touchdown against Maryland in game two. However, Phillips suffered a hamstring injury towards the end of the Maryland game which kept him out of the lineup for the next three games. Phillips returned to suit up in five straight games during the middle of the season, but was pretty average in that time period.
Phillips was being thought of as the number one receiver on UConn's roster heading into this season.
