Junior OL camped at UConn

Junior offensive lineman Louie Rodrigues of Brookfield, Conn. has concluded his junior season and will now turn more of his attention to recruiting. UConn is definitely one of the schools on his early radar, after he camped at Storrs during the summer.
"Recruiting is moving along well," said Rodrigues, who is 6-foot-4 and 305 pounds. "I was supposed to meet with Coach Hughes from UConn on Friday, but due to the tragic events that occurred in my neighboring town, the meeting was canceled."

The tragedy definitely hit close to home for Rodrigues.
"It was less than ten minutes away from my school," he said.
The meeting with Coach Hughes was set to be his first, but he is optimistic that more will come.
"I do hope to be meeting with more coaches in the near future," said Rodrigues.
Aside from UConn, Rodrigues is also receiving early interest from Boston College, Massachusetts and Fordham. During the summer, Rodrigues attended camps at UConn, Boston College and Massachusetts, and made his way to BC this fall for a game.
He shared his thoughts about the UConn camp experience from this summer.
"Well I have attended both the one-day and four-day camps and I really enjoyed them," he said. "I learned a lot and got a lot of exposure to many different coaches."
The interaction with the coaching staff was definitely a highlight for Rodrigues.
"The coaches were very helpful," he said. "They took the time to work with everyone and make sure that they were learning new things that could help them better their game."
Overall, Rodrigues is happy with what he has seen from the UConn program.
"I feel that they are a very well established program and are heading in the right direction to become a powerhouse team," he said.
