Burnett received his offer on January 12, the first day of the open period and also had a home visit with coach Terry Richardson. In his senior season, he helped lead Maret to an undefeated season, a DC Class A Championship, and the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAC) title as well. He also threw for over 1400 yards and 19 touchdowns while rushing for over 2200 yards and an astounding 27 touchdowns. He added another 154 yards receiving and three touchdowns through the air as well for good measure.

The Huskies also added a commitment from Darrian Beavers, a 6-foot-5 safety from Colerain High in Cincinnati, Ohio. He held offers from Army, Ball State, Bowling Green, and Miami (OH), had interest from West Virginia and Cincinnati.

A number of other prospects, some committed, others uncommitted, were also in Storrs this weekend, including Jordan Swann, Bebe Olaniyan, and Brian Keating. Storrs Central will make sure to follow up should there be any other commitment activity following the weekend visits.
