Andre Jackson picks UConn due to Big East and an excellent official visit
ALBANY, N.Y. – When Andre Jackson arrived for an official visit at UConn roughly two weeks ago, he was not sure Storrs was going to be the right fit.
Then Jackson and his family took part in the UConn experience under head coach Dan Hurley. By the time they left campus that weekend, the 6-foot-7 Jackson knew the Huskies were his future.
Jackson, who is ranked 76th in the Class of 2020, made it official on Wednesday at The Albany Academy in front of about 400 students and family in the school’s chapel, picking UConn over Iowa, Syracuse and UCLA.
“Going into the visit I wasn’t that confident that I was going to be going to UConn,” said Jackson, 17, who visited Sept. 20-21. “After the visit it was clear, so if it goes from zero to hundred, then I feel it’s definitely the right choice.
“I’m not going to overthink it; I’m just going to make a decision.”
