UConn Football has landed their second commitment of the 2024 recruiting cycle as Shrewsbury High School (MA) defensive end Cooper Ackerman committed to the program via social media this morning.

Ackerman is listed as 6-foot-4, 240-pound strong-side defensive end and is a Massachusetts native, where he is also ranked by Rivals the No. 5 overall prospect in the state. He also becomes the second prospect from Massachusetts to join the Huskies Football program since Jim Mora took over the program joining recent quarterback signee Tucker McDonald.

This past season as a junior, Ackerman finished the year with some solid stats as he posted 86 total tackles, including 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. He also played tight end for his high school program, hauling in 14 receptions for 203 yards and two touchdowns.

In the end, Ackerman chose the Huskies over several other offers from schools such as Army, Boston College, UMass, Navy, Rutgers, Temple and several others.
