UConn Makes Big In-State Splash As Dillon Harris Commits

The UConn Huskies have their second commitment for the class of 2018 as Cheshire Academy (CT) linebacker Dillon Harris announced his decision on Twitter Wednesday.

Ranked the no. 2 player in the state, Harris transferred to Cheshire Academy and re-classified after a distinguished career at Bloomfield High. The 6-foot-1, 3-star prospect chose UConn over offers from Boston College, Kansas, Maryland, Syracuse, Rutgers, and Michigan.

Given that offer list, Harris' standout performance at the Michigan satellite camp, and the fact that just under two months ago his top-five did not have UConn, this is a great win for Randy Edsall and his staff on the recruiting trail. Billy Crocker's attacking defensive style which allows the linebackers to make plays undoubtedly helped make the Huskies an attractive landing spot.

Harris joins fellow Connecticut linebacker Kevon Jones on UConn's 2018 commitment list. With the Huskies making a schematic shift defensively, front seven could be a popular position group in the immediate future.
