UConn Hoops offers hard-driving 2024 New Jersey wing Billy Richmond

A hard-slashing, quick-twitched, and bouncy athlete with a knack for attacking seams, Class of 2024 NJ Scholars wing Billy Richmond thrived during the recent Philly Live event.

With unique positional size as a 6-foot-6 combination guard, Richmond brings a manipulative one on one game as a crafty lefty. With his boundless energy on both ends of the floor and the type of soaring athleticism that results in momentum-rolling plays, Richmond has ascended the national rankings with his play this spring.

Recently Richmond added UConn to a growing list of highly prominent offers, a sheet which includes the likes of Michigan, Kansas, Villanova, Miami, Cal, Alabama, Kentucky, Kansas State, and others.

With his length and knack for vertically explosive finishes, Richmond is similar to former UConn guard-wing Jeremy Lamb.

Lamb, who authored an NBA career, was a revelation on that memorable 2011 national title team, which defied regular season doubts during a wild postseason ascension.

Playing alongside the guard synonymous with that March power surge in blur-quick Kemba Walker, Lamb etched his name in program lore. He upped his production rate during the NCAA tournament, considerably, averaging close to 17 points while turning in extravagant dunks that only rarefied athletes are capable of.

The reigning national champion Huskies have produced a number of elite level athletes throughout the regal history of the program--Scott Burrell, the late and legendary Stanley Robinson, Jerome Dyson, and Ben Gordon--to name a few. Richmond fits this image as a ferocious competitor with extravagant leaping ability and a knack for changing gears and accelerating his way to the rim.
