UConn guard Nahiem Alleyne has entered the transfer portal

UConn Basketball guard Nahiem Alleyne has decided enter the Transfer Portal according to multiple report on social media.

Alleyne who was a former three-star prospect out of Lawrenceville, Georgia, played his first three years of his college ball at Virginia Tech where he averaged 9.6 points, 1.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game as a junior before transferring to UConn this past season.

During his time as a Husky, the 6-foot-4 guard averaged 5.2 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 39 games, while seeing his playing time drop from 31.1 minutes per game at Virginia Tech to just 17.9mpg at UConn.

The senior guard began the year as a starter, but was quickly replaced by star, Andre Jackson after he returned from an injury to his right pinky finger. However, Alleyne played a pivotal role off of the bench for the Huskies during their recent 2023 national championship run.

Alleyne is going to be looked upon highly by teams trying to add a player with championship pedigree to their roster. He will provide efficient scoring and veteran leadership as he has one year of eligibility remaining.
