As a member of the class of 2019, Mitchell was ranked as a 5.6, three-star as well as the No. 55 overall running back recruit in the country. He hails from Rockledge High School down in Central Florida. At the end of his recruit, Mitchell racked up 15 total offers before choosing Louisville over schools such as Kentucky, Purdue, South Florida, UCF, Virginia, Virginia Tech and a few others.

During his four years with Louisville, he appeared in 22 total games all while tallying 217 carries for 1,117 yards and seven touchdowns. He also had 16 receptions for 154 yards as well.

Mitchell's best season came in 2021, where he had 155 carries for 722 yards and five touchdowns to go along with 120 or so receiving yards as well. Unfortunately Mitchell could not replicate those numbers in 2022 as he struggled with injuries.

Mitchell has two years of eligibility remaining to play for the Huskies.
