UConn Football has added a new assistant coach today as Kashif Moore is being reported as the new Huskies wide receivers coach per ESPN's Pete Thamel.

Moore is a Burlington, New Jersey native who returns to Storrs after playing for the Huskies as a wide receiver from 2007-2011.

Following a stint in the NFL where Moore was on several different team, he joined the coaching ranks, getting his start at Conrad High School in Connecticut where he was working under his former receivers coach at UConn, Matt Cersosimo.

After that, Moore quickly moved up the ranks to the college level where he spent time at Wesleyan, Cornell and most recently spent the past season with Albany.

Now Moore might be slightly new to the coaching ranks, but he understands the wide receiver position pretty well as he currently ranks as a top 10 all time reception leader in Huskies history with 129 total. He also managed to tally 1,699 total receiving yards and 13 touchdowns as well.

Moore replaces former Wide Receivers coach / Pass Game Coordinator John Allen, who The UConn Report has learned has been out of his role since early January.
