Randy Edsall and his staff have been hot on the recruiting trail, adding their sixth verbal commitment to the team from Rob King, a former Temple commit who announced he has flipped his commitment to UConn Wednesday morning on Twitter.

King chose Temple in July of 2016 but likely started entertaining other options once Matt Rhule left the Owls to take the head coaching position at Baylor. At the time he held offers from UConn, Coastal Carolina, Army, Buffalo, and Kent State.

King is also really good friends with Raheem Blackshear, a receiver prospect who was also a former Temple commit that UConn's new staff was going after. Blackshear committed to Michigan State recently after an official visit.

UConn's newest commitment played quarterback and defensive back for Father Judge High in Northeast Philadelphia. We are unsure at the moment, but King could end up playing wide receiver, cornerback, or safety at the next level.

King becomes the 14th verbal commitment in the class of 2017 for the Huskies, who recently added an impressive graduate transfer, also from the Philadelphia area, to the team.
