UConn is back at Suffield Academy

UConn has experienced some recent recruiting success at Suffield Academy, getting Brice McAllister from the school last year. Now the Huskies are back at Suffield, offering defensive back Tahj Herring, who recently spoke to UConnReport.com about the offer and his upcoming plans.
"It was a great experience," said Herring about his first offer. "It was something I always dreamed of happening. They let my coach know and he passed it down to me."

Herring, 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, has spoken to Coach Reardon a few times.
"He's a great guy," he said. "He seems to be really into getting good kids to make the program better."
So what are Herring's early thoughts regarding the UConn program and school?
"I like the school and what it can give me in an academic standpoint," he said. "Hopefully they can bring the program to more stability."
Being more local, Herring has already been to campus a couple of times, including a visit for the BYU game last fall.
"They campus is really nice and a good size," he said. "I didn't really get to see the facilities yet."
Aside from UConn, Herring is also receiving early interest from Ohio State, Boston College and Villanova. He hopes to hit the road for a few visits this winter and spring.
"I'm going to take a visit to UConn, BC and I'm going to try and see if I can go up to Ohio State as well," said Herring, who also mentioned that he took a visit to Penn State during the fall.
