UConn Falls in OT

MILWAUKEE - Marquette junior Cadougan scored 18 points - including a buzzer-beating, tying three-pointer at the end of regulation - to lead Marquette to a 82-76 overtime win over the Univerity of Connecticut men's basketball team Tuesday night in the BIG EAST Conference opener for both teams before a crowd of 14,159 at the Bradley Center.
Davante Gardner added 18 points off the bench for the Golden Eagles (10-3). Vander Blue scored 13 points as Marquette won its 17th in a row at home.

UConn junior guard Shabazz Napier (Roxbury, Mass.) tied his career high with 29 points and had eight rebounds for Connecticut (10-3). Sophomore guard Ryan Boatright (Aurora, Ill.) added 16 for the Huskies.
Cadougan's three-pointer was the Golden Eagles' first of the night after missing their first 14 from behind the arc.
The game was the first for Connecticut head coach Kevin Ollie since he received a contract extension on Saturday that runs through the 2017-18 season.
UConn returns to action next Tuesday, January 8, as it plays DePaul at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs at 7:00 p.m. The game will be televised by SNY and heard on the UConn IMG Sports Radio Network
