New York DE Irvin Briggs IV details commitment to UConn

The UConn Football program continued their hot streak on the recruiting trail recently with the addition of Holy Trinity (NY) defensive end Irvin Briggs IV announced his commitment to the program.

Briggs is listed as a 6-foot-4, 250-pound prospect and chose the Huskies over several other offers from local programs such as Bryant, Long Island, Maine, Rhode Island and Stony Brook.

The New York native spoke with The UConn Report following his decision.

“Overall I chose UConn because of their facilities," Briggs told UConn Report. "I also really liked that UConn Head Coach Jim Mora has a lot of experience and I got along well with the defensive line coach as well. Also I like how the coaches are as people, that really stood out to me.”

Now Briggs was last on campus this past summer for one of the program's prospect camps and that was when he learned more about the school and first earned his offer.

“The visit was great," said Briggs. "I learned a lot more about the school and I met a couple of the athletes.. I should be going back for another visit soon, I just have to pick a date and of course if I can make a game I would love to see the Huskies ball.”
