Lagow finally makes it official

The recruiting roller coaster for three-star quarterback Richard Lagow of Plano, Texas finally came to a stop yesterday when he faxed his National Letter of Intent to UConn. After the Huskies picked up a surprise quarterback commitment on National Signing Day, many assumed that Lagow would head elsewhere, but they were proven wrong.
"I just needed time to think, and after thinking, it's what I wanted to do," said Lagow, who is 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds.

After Lagow failed to send his National Letter of Intent to UConn on National Signing Day, other schools quickly approached him about his potential interest. Included in this list of schools were West Virginia, Arizona State, Arkansas State, North Texas and Western Kentucky.
After waiting a little longer than expected, the UConn coaching staff was relieved yesterday.
"They are fired up, just like me," said Lagow.
Joining in the celebration is Lagow's family.
"They are happy too," he said. "They support me 100%."
Now that this part of the process is finally over for Lagow, he can focus his time and efforts on preparing himself for his move to Connecticut.
"I'm just going to work with my quarterback's coach and strength coach," said Lagow.
