Holines gets visit

Most of the UConn commitments took their official visits during December, but a few will have that chance next weekend. One of these is defensive end Sha-ki Holines of Springfield (Mass.) Commerce, who also got an in-home visit earlier this month.
"I had Coach Hughes come in," said Holines, who is 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds. "It was very good. I got to learn more things about the program. He's a very cool guy."

Holines' family also enjoyed the in-home visit and is excited for Sha-ki's upcoming move to UConn.
"They think it's a good opportunity for me to get a good education, to play football and hopefully to play on Sundays," said Holines.
Next weekend, Holines will travel to UConn for his official visit.
"I'm hoping to see the campus more, meet all of the coaching staff and hopefully find out who the defensive coordinator will be," said Holines.
Since his flip from UMass, Holines mentioned that he has maintained contact with a few of the other UConn commitments and hopes to get to know a few more next weekend.
Holines is also beginning to focus on National Signing Day, which is quickly approaching.
"It feels good," he said. "It feels like a dream come true."
