Freeborn attends his first UConn game

While commit Connor Freeborn is already very comfortable around the UConn program, on Saturday he was able to experience something new with his first game day experience. UConnReport.com spoke to Freeborn about his time at The Rent and the victory over Stony Brook.
"It was great," said Freeborn. "I finally got to experience The Rent. I was very impressed with every aspect of it."

Freeborn first detailed his pregame activities and the atmosphere during the game.
"When I arrived, I walked through the tailgating section," he said. "The music was playing, the fans were having a good time, and everyone was excited for the game. I got to go on the field before the game and watch the team warm up. The atmosphere in The Rent is like no other. The players love to play in it, and the fans love to cheer in it. It's just a great football stadium."
Freeborn also shared his thoughts on the actual game.
"They started off a little slow, but once they got in the rhythm of things they started to pick up," he said. "I thought the defense played outstanding the whole game. There were little-to-no penalties on the Huskies which shows a lot of discipline. They definitely have been improving each week."
His time at the game allowed Freeborn some additional time to chat with the coaching staff.
"I got to talk to a few before and after the game, but not all of them," he said. "They asked how my game went last Friday, and I told them it went well. I told them good luck before the game. They all were excited that I was there."
Freeborn went to the game with both of his parents.
"They loved it," he said. "It was my mom's first time going to Connecticut and she was blown away with all of the school spirit. Although she didn't get to see the school, she was quite impressed with Rentschler Field."
Before making his way to UConn on Saturday, Freeborn had his first game of the season on Friday night.
"We beat Caesar Rodney 28-7," he said. "It was a big win for us, and a great start to the season. I had an interception and 10 tackles. I played very well in the first half, and kind of let up in the second half."
Next up for Freeborn and his teammates is a game this Saturday against William Penn. He also mentioned that he plans to head back to UConn on September 27th for the game against Temple.
UConnReport.com will continue to stay in touch with Freeborn throughout his senior season and heading to National Signing Day in February.
