Dexter makes his choice

After recently taking an official visit to UConn, linebacker Jack Dexter, who has been offered a preferred walk-on position by the Huskies, felt pretty confident that he was going to accept the opportunity. Yesterday he finally decided to make it official.
"I committed to UConn," said Dexter. "I had made my decision and was ready to let them know."

While Dexter was pretty certain that he had his mind made up after his official visit to UConn, he decided to take a visit to William & Mary this past weekend just to confirm his feelings.
"I love William & Mary and my dad played there, but I felt that UConn was like home for me," he said. "I feel in love with it on my official visit. The campus, the players and the coaches especially. It is an unbelievable place and Coach Diaco is building something special."
So how does Dexter feel to have everything finalized now?
"It feels great," he said. "Especially knowing that I'm going to such a great place."
Dexter finished his senior season with 65 tackles, two forced fumbles, one sack and one fumble recovery defensively, plus 23 receptions for 270 yards and three touchdowns on offense.
