Cornell Grad Transfer David Onuorah Commits to UConn

The UConn Huskies have made more headway in filling out their roster as Kevin Ollie and his staff received a commitment from David Onuorah, a transfer forward who will be immediately eligible after graduating from Cornell with a degree in Applied Economics and Management.

Onuorah sat the rest of his senior season after one game in his final year with the Big Red, but averaged 5.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game in 25.5 minutes per contest in his junior season. He should be an immediate impact player for a Husky front court which loses Amida Brimah, Kentan Facey, Steve Enoch, and Juwan Durham to graduation and transfer.

The rebuilt big man room now has junior college transfer Eric Cobb, 2016 commit Mamadou Diarra, and freshmen Tyler Polley, Josh Carlton, and Isaiah Whaley. Onuorah joins this group and probably is a leader for a starting role. He was a 2013 recruit out of Marist High in Atlanta, Georgia, choosing Cornell over offers from Auburn and Bucknell, among others.
