UConn Football landed their second commitment from the official visit weekend as in-state prospect Jonathan Morris made the news public today via social media.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pounds athlete plays for Fairfield College Prep and chose the Huskies over a few other schools including offers from the likes of Air Force, Army, Columbia, Monmouth, Maine, Rhode Island and a few others.

Morris has a lot of talent and the coaching staff took notice, making him a priority target early on. He is currently listed as a safety prospect, but will be a linebacker at the next one and a good coverage one at that as he spent some solid time at safety for his high school team. This past season, Morris finished with 120 total tackles, eight pass breakups, and two interceptions.

Looking at some of testing numbers, Morris runs a 4.48 40-yard dash, which is considered to be among the fastest at his position and could bring some great speed to the UConn defense allowing them to use him in both coverage and blitz packages. Overall he brings a lot of versatility to the Huskies.

Morris joins Kaleb Stewart as the other linebacker in the Huskies 2024 recruiting class as the position has been a big focus for the staff with several players set to graduate following this season.
