Prior to attending the Mega Camp at UConn on May 29th, McDonald was in contact with OC Nick Charlton. He earned an offer that day. McDonald was scheduled to visit Rutgers this weekend, but that visit has been canceled. He visited UConn on 6/22. "I was on my visit all day this past Tuesday. I was surrounded by players and coaches the whole day. Players talked about the changes they have seen in just the few months the new coaching staff has been there. Everyone was so energetic and the vibes were very high on my visit."

More from McDonald's visit: "UConn felt like home from the moment I stepped on campus 3 days ago. Everyone was amazing, from the coaches to the players. I want to be apart of the changes coach Mora is going to do with the university"

The independent schedule is also something that excites McDonald. "Their schedule is a very tough one, but I think it is an awesome one. I am most excited to see the guys compete against Michigan this year, and for me to go down to Tennessee my freshman year."

And what does McDonald have to say to UConn fans ahead of his arrival? "I want them to get excited about the program and the things we are going to do. This team is very special and are going to turn a lot of heads this year."
