Casady's received an offer from UConn in early May, then made an unofficial visit the very next weekend. "I loved my visit despite not having much time being there due to an early flight. I got to meet a few of the O-linemen and they seemed like nice, genuine guys to me. The coaches showed me around and every inch of the facilities were seen. They also spoke to me about how they help players in academics and what their plans on for the future in football and how things work. Even got to talk with the strength staff for 20 or so minutes going over that."

After visiting, Casady was impressed with all that UConn had to offer. "I chose UConn for many reasons but everything just lined up perfectly with what I want academically and football-wise. I loved meeting the staff when I went up. Coach Mora and coach Sammis have been great and honest the whole time which I loved a lot, and ultimately I decided this is where I want to be."

Casady was also sold on a pitch that other recruits haven't shared, but is well known to Connecticut fans. "There is no pro team in Connecticut or any other FBS football teams so you pretty much have the whole state supporting you and I love that."

Being from North Carolina, having upcoming games at NC State, UNC, Wake Forest, Liberty, Duke, and Maryland is appealing. "I know my parents can catch a few games. I loved the versatility of it and look forward to traveling the country playing many unique teams."

Ahead of his arrival, Casady had this to say to UConn fans. "From what I’ve seen and heard, UConn’s fan base and alumni are very strong and have been supportive already. I’m really just looking forward to packed games and support from them and in return us making sure we establish a winning culture. I can’t wait to be apart of this alumni base one day"
