2015 QB has Huskies in early list

2015 QB Chris Chugunov out of Skillman (N.J.) Montgomery has Connecticut in his early list of leaders. The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder discussed the latest.
"I like Virginia, Rutgers, Connecticut and Western Michigan, as well as schools everyone likes from the SEC," he said. "The thing about those schools is that when I visited them, they were really focused on academics from my conversations with their coaches. The coaches and the environment for those schools, it was really nice."

Currently, Chugunov holds one offer from Western Michigan.
Meanwhile, interest is rising in the quarterback.
"I'm getting interest from schools like Boston College, Rutgers, Nebraska, UCLA, Oregon, Connecticut, Temple, Vanderbilt and Cincinnati," he said. "Some are more interested and involved then others, Connecticut was all over me, but I'm not sure what's going on there now since they fired their coach."
Chugunov visited Virginia, Boston College, Connecticut, Rutgers, Maryland, UCLA and Western Michigan this summer, and noted a couple stood out.
"I enjoyed most of the visits," he said. "Virginia was really nice. They took me around and I saw the campus. Connecticut was really nice too. As I said though, I don't know what's going on there now. We'll see going forward."
In three games this season, Chugunov has thrown for approximately 650-yards passing.
"The season is going good," he said. "We're implementing a new offense this year, a no huddle spread attack. We ran the Wing T last year, so it's different. It's helping me to read defenses now and pre-snap reads. I'm working on a lot."
