Boyle has BC trip planned

Tim Boyle is excited because the 2013 pro-style quarterback from Middletown (Conn.) Xavier is planning to visit Boston College soon to meet with the coaching staff and get a better feel for what the Eagles could offer.

Meeting with the offensive staff is most important to Boyle, who already has offers from Boston College, Connecticut and Syraucse and he is hearing from many other schools so far in his recruitment.

"I've been talking to the Boston College, UConn and Syraucse coaching staffs and they want me up for their junior days," Boyle said.

"I'm going to head up to BC and meet the offensive coordinator and start a relationship with him. That's a big deal to me having a good relationship with the offensive coordinator. We'll see what happens from there."

Boyle, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound prospect who missed parts of his junior season with injuries, said he realizes he cannot pick a school based solely on the coaching staff but that it is an important factor throughout the process.

Getting up to Boston College to meet with them will be a vital step moving forward.

"I want to go to a school that fits me and complements me in my strengths which obviously would be the passing game," Boyle said.

"Having a good relationship with the coach means a lot to me. I know you can't fall in love with the coach, you have to fall in love with the school, but I think every player could say the coach is a big factor. The offensive coordinator is a big part of a quarterback's career in college and I want to have a good relationship with whoever it is."

No date has been set for the visit but Boyle hopes it happens soon. Florida, Penn State, Rutgers, Wisconsin and Temple are some others showing interest in him.

"I talked to the offensive coordinator at BC and they want to have me up so I can watch film, meet him, spend some time with him and get comfortable with him," Boyle said. "I'm looking forward to it."
