Webb leads team in 47-21 win
THE COLONY, Texas - As a talent evaluator, you wanted to see Prosper (Texas) quarterback and Texas The commit Davis Webb have to sweat a little bit around the midway mark of the fourth quarter.
Prosper tied their game against The Colony Cougars with less than a half minute remaining in the first half, 21-21, and had a 34-21 lead in the middle of the fourth quarter. But the Cougars had the ball and if they scored Webb would either have to drive Prosper into at least field goal range or risk losing the game late.
It could have been the stress test that almost assuredly awaits the quarterback some time in the final regular season games or in the playoffs considering Webb has not yet left the field for the final time this season without the lead including a last second field goal loss against Frisco (Texas) Wakeland last week.
It didn't happen because the Prosper Eagle defense hunkered down as they had all half and got a stop on fourth down and the team ultimately won the game 47-21. But you still saw Webb for all he is worth to Tech offensive coordinator Neal Brown and the Red Raider coaching staff. The game was over on that stop, but Webb had one more gem of a play in him yet.
