Tilton duo still seeing Orange?

In the past week Syracuse went from being talked about as a Final Four team to a black sheep in College hoops. The Orange are facing tough allegations of child molestation against Associate Head Coach Bernie Fine. Will the situation impact recruiting?

Goodluck Okonoboh visited Syracuse just about a month ago for Midnight Madness and left Syracuse with very positive thoughts. After this situation what does he think of Syracuse University?

"I am still looking at Syracuse," Okonoboh said." This does not change anything."

One of the reasons the Bernie Fine situation has not impacted Okonoboh is because he is not sure of what exactly is going on.

"I did not really know what to think. I knew that the coach was there for many years. It was just so surprising and ironic that it was Syracuse because I was just up there for Midnight Madness and met the guy. It is not like anything is proven it is allegations right now. He has not been proven guilty so you can't say anything."

Even though the two met there was no real relationship other than the first time they met.

"He was not involved in my recruitment. Actually I saw him at Midnight Madness, but I actually met him at the Syracuse camp over the summer. He is a nice guy very funny and I have a good first impression of him."

Now that nothing has changed with Okonoboh will he be ready to talk with coaches and be prepared for them if they decide to negatively recruit against the Orange?

"I wouldn't really be able to respect that another Coach if they came in and started to get down on another school. When people talk about Syracuse all you hear are good things, so I don't think you can really say bad things about Syracuse."

Right now the Orange remain in good standing with the prospect, but he does not have a list of top schools at this point.

"I don't have a list yet and I am just taking all of the schools into consideration."

There is another prospect at the Tilton School in New Hampshire that the Orange are looking at and that is Nerlens Noel. Like his teammate and best friend Okonoboh he is still looking at the Orange.

"Nerlens is still looking at Syracuse. We both talked about the situation and everything is the same that it was."
